Vickery Watervale Riesling
Montalto Pennon Hill Chardonnay
Vickery
Vickery wines is the culmination of John Vickery’s half-century of winemaking experience, partnered alongside a talented winemaking team. Together they create Rieslings that showcase John’s extensive expertise with the most noble of white wine varieties. It begins in the regions where John made his mark. Eden Valley in the Barossa and Watervale in the Clare Valley. It goes further into the sub-districts of these regions that John knows intimately, and partnering with growers who have the right vineyards in the right locations to produce the best possible fruit. The Vickery label is in effect, a time capsule for John’s wealth of winemaking knowledge. It allows his experience and winemaking techniques to be used without compromise, and then passed on to current and future generations of Riesling winemakers. The Vickery Eden Valley Riesling is a great example of these winemaking techniques ensuring that the exceptional fruit from the vineyard reaches it’s full potential.
Montalto
Montalto founders and owners John and Wendy Mitchell initially planned a small vineyard by the coast. John's interest in viticulture and corporate knowledge soon combined to grow Montalto into one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most popular destinations. Under the guiding hand of Simon Black who spent many a year making wine in Burgundy, the wines exhibit true cool climate characteristics. Montalto is rated 5 stars from James Halliday and receives multiple awards on the Australian Show circuit. Simon Black and the award-winning winemaking team manage the production of the three ranges in the Montalto stable of wine. Their focus is to create wines of exemplary quality and character. The winemaking techniques utilised complement the unique qualities derived from their vineyards, in a style that reflects each vineyard site Above all, it is the Montalto philosophy that wine should be an expression of its origin. A representation of the best fruit produced from its site in a particular vintage. The Montalto Pennon Hill Chardonnay is no exception.
