Parker Estate - Favourite Son Shiraz
John and Faye Parker established Parker Coonawarra Estate in 1985, following a long-standing connection with the region. Today, the privately owned estate remains committed to John Parker’s exacting standards, with a focus on producing the most faithful expression of wines from Coonawarra’s celebrated Terra Rossa soils.
The estate’s first release, the 1988 First Growth, was met with outstanding success—winning the Penfold Hyland Trophy in Perth and later ranking among the top Bordeaux-style wines at the 1991 International Wine Challenge in London. Over more than a quarter of a century, Parker Estate has continued to earn numerous accolades, including a Five Star rating from James Halliday and Langton’s Classification V for Excellence.
The Favourite Son Shiraz is a collaborative wine, created in partnership with a close-knit group of growers who are now considered more friends than suppliers. It’s a wine that reflects both the strength of these relationships and the quality of fruit sourced from trusted vineyards.
