- Aromas: Highly fragrant and punchy, packed with ripe white nectarine, grapefruit pith, and kaffir lime, layered with strong, savoury characters of struck-match flint, curry leaf, and toasted nut.
- Palate: Intense, taut, and deeply textural, delivering driving stone fruit and citrus flavours over a mouth-watering line of coastal acidity and a distinct phenolic grip on the long finish.
- Style: A world-class, sleek, and highly distinctive Single Vineyard (SV) Chardonnay that masterfully layers complex wild elements with tight fruit precision and a savory, briny edge.
- Winemaking: Hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed directly to French oak puncheons, wild-fermented spontaneously, and left to rest on its gross lees for months with no settling or filtering to build maximum structure.
- Cellaring: Though it showcases a thrilling fruit energy on release, its powerful natural acid structure and fine phenolics mean it will cellar and evolve beautifully for 5 to 12 years.
- Food Pairing: Sensational with upscale, savory seafood dishes like pan-seared scallops with finger lime, salt and pepper kingfish, or a delicate Vietnamese roast duck salad.
Nocturne
Nocturne is the husband-and-wife partnership of Julian Langworthy and Alana, crafting highly awarded, site-driven wines from exceptional vineyards in Margaret River.
Julian, a Margaret River native, is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading winemakers, with accolades including Winemaker of the Year in the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion and the Jimmy Watson Trophy. Together, they focus on sourcing outstanding fruit, including from their own Sheoak Vineyard, known for its mature Cabernet vines.
The range is divided into Single Vineyard (SV) and Sub Regional (SR) wines. The SV wines are precise, powerful expressions of exceptional sites, produced in limited quantities, while the SR range offers a more approachable, vibrant style.
Across both ranges, Nocturne wines are defined by energy, balance, and drinkability—elegant, expressive, and a true reflection of Margaret River.
