- Aromas: Highly complex and fragrant, bursting with cassis, blackberry essence, and dark plum, layered with notes of toasted nori, black olive tapenade, menthol, and cedary oak.
- Palate: Potently intense and deeply flavor-stained, delivering driving blackcurrant and dark berry characters balanced by a lively ping of acidity and an abundance of ripe, cocoa-powder tannins.
- Style: A world-class, seamless, and completely poised Cabernet that masterfully pairs immense flavor concentration and weight with a distinct lightness and ethereal elegance.
- Winemaking: Sourced from mature vines on deep gravelly slopes, the fruit is wild-fermented on skins for 14 days before maturing for 16 months in premium French oak barrels, using only the absolute best barrels for the final blend.
- Cellaring: While dangerously accessible and pliable on release, its magnificent balance and firm structural frame ensure it will cellar and evolve spectacularly for 10 to 20-plus years.
- Food Pairing: An outstanding match for high-end savory dishes, pairing perfectly with premium dry-aged ribeye steak, slow-roasted lamb shoulder, or mature hard cheeses.
Nocturne
Nocturne is the husband-and-wife partnership of Julian Langworthy and Alana, crafting highly awarded, site-driven wines from exceptional vineyards in Margaret River.
Julian, a Margaret River native, is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading winemakers, with accolades including Winemaker of the Year in the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion and the Jimmy Watson Trophy. Together, they focus on sourcing outstanding fruit, including from their own Sheoak Vineyard, known for its mature Cabernet vines.
The range is divided into Single Vineyard (SV) and Sub Regional (SR) wines. The SV wines are precise, powerful expressions of exceptional sites, produced in limited quantities, while the SR range offers a more approachable, vibrant style.
Across both ranges, Nocturne wines are defined by energy, balance, and drinkability—elegant, expressive, and a true reflection of Margaret River.
