The Kalleske Zeitgeist Shiraz is a powerful, full-bodied, and incredibly pure red wine from the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Grown on the family's certified organic and biodynamic estate, this unique release translates to "spirit of the time", offering a completely raw, unadulterated, and preservative-free snapshot of the vintage.
  • Aromas: The nose is vivid and bright, bursting with fresh plum, dark mulberry, and black cherry, alongside pretty violet florals and red liquorice.
  • Palate: The palate is rich and plush, where juicy black and blue fruit flavours take centre stage, balanced by natural grape intensity and solid, robust tannins.
  • Style: This is a bold, energetic Barossa Shiraz that captures the natural power of the region while remaining entirely unburdened by wood for maximum fruit drive.
  • Winemaking: Fruit from multiple estate blocks is wild-fermented in open fermenters, basket-pressed, and bottled young with no oak aging and no added sulphur.
  • Food Pairing: It pairs beautifully with casual, rich foods like flame-grilled burgers, wood-fired pizzas, smoky beef brisket, or rich tomato-based pastas.
An incredibly expressive bottle that trades heavy oak influences for pure, raw fruit energy. It gives you all the big, comforting Barossa Shiraz power you want, but it keeps things totally lively and bright on the palate. It is a fantastic crowd-pleasing red to crack open for a weekend backyard barbecue or a casual pizza night with a group of friends.

Inky purple/magenta in the glass with fruit notes of blueberry, boysenberry and plum compote along with hints of baking spices, grilled figs, blackberry jam, jasmine, raisins, turned earth, 'Old Jamaican' chocolate and olive tapenade. Big, ripe and pure, there's a riot of spice, blue fruits and purple floral tones on the palate, beefy around the shoulders with gentle tannin grip

Kalleske

The Kalleske family have been farming the land near the Barossa Valley village of Greenock since 1853 — making them one of the region's most deeply rooted grape-growing families. Their reputation as growers is such that they were among the select few chosen to supply fruit for Penfolds Grange, one of the world's most celebrated wines.

In 2002, seventh-generation brothers Troy and Tony took the next step — establishing the Kalleske winery and earning certification as both an organic and biodynamic producer. Their philosophy is one of genuine stewardship: not simply maintaining the land, but actively improving it for the generations that will follow.

Since their first release in 2004, Kalleske has built a swift and well-deserved reputation for handcrafted wines of exceptional quality — the natural expression of over 170 years of farming the same Barossa soil.

"Among the select few chosen to supply fruit for Penfolds Grange — a testament to over 170 years of Barossa farming."
