Audarya | Sardinia | Bovale

Sale price$79.00

Nuracada is Audarya's richer expression of Sardinia, made from Bovale by the Pala family. Named with a nod to the island's ancient heritage, it brings a deeper, fuller red to the table while keeping the polished texture that makes the estate's wines so inviting.

  • Aromas: Ripe red fruit and sweet spice, with a warm, generous aromatic character that suits the wine's darker colour and fuller build.
  • Palate: Broad and rounded, with smooth tannins wrapping around concentrated fruit. There is plenty of weight, but the texture remains comfortable and harmonious.
  • Style: A full-bodied Sardinian red for drinkers who enjoy depth, ripe fruit and a supple finish.
  • Winemaking: Selected Bovale grapes undergo controlled maceration and fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in oak. The wood passage helps round the structure while adding complexity around the concentrated fruit.
  • Cellaring: Ready to drink now. Store in a cool and dark location.
  • Food Pairing: Slow-cooked beef, lamb shoulder, rich mushroom dishes or mature pecorino; choose dishes with enough flavour to meet its generous body.

This is the Audarya bottle to reach for when dinner gets a little richer. Think something bubbling slowly on the stove, good company and a red with the depth to match. Nuracada makes a satisfying change from the familiar big-red choices. Serve slightly cool in a generous glass, letting the fruit and savoury detail unfold with the meal.

Audarya

Sardinia’s distinctive grapes take centre stage at Audarya, a family winery located up in the hills north of the capital city of Cagliari. The Pala family has cultivated vines here for generations, and siblings Salvatore and Nicoletta bring fresh energy to that inheritance. Their approach combines a close connection to the island’s wine traditions with a modern eye for precision, allowing each variety to express its own character. Vermentino, Nuragus and Malvasia lead the whites, while Cannonau (aka Grenache), Monica and Bovale (aka Graciano) reveal the diversity of Sardinian reds.

This is a collection that rewards curiosity. Vermentino offers a refreshing introduction, while the more distinctive Nuragus and Malvasia invite wine lovers to venture beyond familiar names. Cannonau brings the generosity associated with Grenache, Monica offers a lighter expression, and Bovale provides the depth behind flagship red Nuracada. Rather than relying on international varieties, Audarya builds its identity around Sardinia itself: bright Mediterranean flavours, native grapes and a family’s continuing relationship with the land. These are wines with an island story and plenty of appeal at the table.
