Smith & Sheth was founded in 2014 by Steve Smith MW and Brian Sheth, united by a shared passion for exceptional wine and the unique beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand. Their vision was simple—to craft world-class wines from outstanding vineyards and create meaningful experiences around them.
Steve Smith MW is one of New Zealand’s most respected figures in wine, known for founding Craggy Range and as one of the country’s few Masters of Wine. Together, Smith and Sheth operate as contemporary négociants, sourcing exceptional fruit from some of New Zealand’s finest vineyards and working closely with growers to capture the essence of each site.
At the heart of the wines is a strong sense of place—what the French call terroir, and in New Zealand is deeply reflected in the concept of tūrangawaewae, a connection to the land. This philosophy is expressed in every bottle, with wines that are elegant, authentic, and true to their origins.
