The Pyramid Valley North Canterbury Chardonnay is a medium-bodied, energetic, and highly detailed cool-climate white wine from North Canterbury, New Zealand. Crafted as the estate's regional showcase, this progressive release captures the striking mineral focus and natural intensity of the area with a modern, high-energy approach.
  • Aromas: Vibrant and lifted with lemon curd, white peach, green apple, struck-match flint, toasted cashew, and sea spray.
  • Palate: Clean and intense with driving citrus and stone fruit flavours, balanced by a razor-sharp line of natural acidity.
  • Style: Contemporary white that trades heavy weight for length and precision, combining excellent fruit power with a savory, briny edge.
  • Winemaking: Sourced from certified organic vineyards, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented on solids in French oak barrels, and matured on fine lees.
  • Cellaring: Built to celebrate its immediate, thrilling crunch, it possesses the structural balance to cellar beautifully over 3 to 6 years.
  • Food Pairing: Phenomenal with salt and pepper squid, Kingfish ceviche with lime and ginger, or Vietnamese chicken salad (Gỏi gà).
This is a seriously smart, high-energy white that handles its wild elements beautifully. It perfectly treats you to that classic, luxurious mix of smoky matchstick flint and ripe stone fruits, but it stays remarkably focused, athletic, and light on its feet thanks to a super crisp wave of ocean-breeze acidity

Pyramid Valley

Pyramid Valley was founded in 2000 by Mike and Claudia Weersing after a 15-year search for the ideal vineyard site, eventually settling on the dramatic limestone and clay slopes of Waikari in North Canterbury, New Zealand. Guided by biodynamic principles and minimal intervention winemaking, the estate quickly gained recognition for producing exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with a profound sense of place.

In 2017, the estate entered a new chapter under the ownership of Steve Smith MW and Brian Sheth, while maintaining the same unwavering commitment to terroir-driven wines that honestly reflect the land they come from.
