- Aromas: The nose is perfumed and complex, bursting with cassis, dark plum, and mulberries, alongside dried bay leaf, tobacco, and subtle cedary oak.
- Palate: The palate is juicy and generous, offering a core of blackberry and dark cherry fruit balanced by fresh acidity and fine, gravelly cocoa tannins.
- Style: This is a contemporary Margaret River blend that focuses on fruit buoyancy and immediate appeal, delivering a serious Cabernet profile that remains light on its feet.
- Winemaking: A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Merlot, wild-fermented on skins and matured for 14 months in French oak barrels with minimal new wood.
- Cellaring: While designed with a generous structure that makes it fantastic to enjoy right now, it possesses the balance to cellar well over the next 5 to 10 years.
- Food Pairing: An exceptional match for savoury foods, pairing beautifully with wood-fired pizzas, slow-roasted lamb shoulder, gourmet burgers, or a char-grilled steak.
Nocturne
Nocturne is the husband-and-wife partnership of Julian Langworthy and Alana, crafting highly awarded, site-driven wines from exceptional vineyards in Margaret River.
Julian, a Margaret River native, is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading winemakers, with accolades including Winemaker of the Year in the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion and the Jimmy Watson Trophy. Together, they focus on sourcing outstanding fruit, including from their own Sheoak Vineyard, known for its mature Cabernet vines.
The range is divided into Single Vineyard (SV) and Sub Regional (SR) wines. The SV wines are precise, powerful expressions of exceptional sites, produced in limited quantities, while the SR range offers a more approachable, vibrant style.
Across both ranges, Nocturne wines are defined by energy, balance, and drinkability—elegant, expressive, and a true reflection of Margaret River.
