Montalto Vineyards - Pennon Hill Pinot Gris
Montalto was founded by John and Wendy Mitchell, who set out to create a small coastal vineyard inspired by time spent in Southern France. What began as a passion project has grown into one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most celebrated wineries, recognised as Best Winery Tourism Destination by Gourmet Traveller and awarded a 5 Red Star rating by James Halliday.
The appointment of Chief Winemaker Simon Black in 2010 marked a new chapter, with a focus on elevating quality and expressing the unique character of each vineyard site. Today, the wines reflect true cool-climate precision, crafted with a strong emphasis on site, vintage, and fruit quality.
At the heart of Montalto is a simple philosophy: wine should reflect its origin—capturing the best of each vineyard in every vintage.
