Bentu Luna

Bentu Luna is a contemporary project with remarkably old roots. Based in central Sardinia, it works with historic vineyards in Mandrolisai and Barigadu, preserving bush-trained vines and the knowledge of the families who have tended them. Created by Gabriele Moratti, also associated with Castello di Cigognola, the estate places the recovery of this living heritage at the centre of its identity. Bovale (aka Graciano), Cannonau (aka Grenache) and Monica form the heart of its reds, alongside white varieties including Vermentino and Vernaccia.

The fascination lies in the vineyards themselves: old mixed plantings capture a local tradition in which different grapes grow together, rather than being neatly separated into modern varietal blocks. Careful work by hand and restrained cellar practices allow these sites to speak with clarity. One very special wine not to miss is Be Luna, made from a vineyard planted in 1905. Bentu Luna’s distinction is its commitment to ancient Sardinian viticulture, bringing depth, freshness and a sense of place to wines that connect the island’s past with its future.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0996/1891/4673/collections/bentu-luna_01_old-vines-and-grapes_1200x650_679d8393-2f90-4185-bfce-80f2579d9194.png?v=1792662130
